Teacher Shortage is Getting Worse: British MPs Committee

The government has failed to take any proper steps to tackle “significant teacher shortages” in England said a committee of MPs. The education select committee has demanded a long-term plan since schools are struggling heavily to recruit teachers while a number of pupils continue to rise continuously.

MPs demand more active and slid efforts and steps to reduce the number of teachers who are quitting their profession. The Department of Education however said that there are at present record levels of teachers. A spokesperson of the department of Education also said that the department had £1.3bn that are reserved for a recruitment campaign. The cross-party committee however says that recruitment targets set by the government have been continuously missed and the situation of teacher shortage is getting bad to worse. The committee has also warned that this situation is causing some serious problem for secondary schools in subjects like physics, maths and online coursework help
